About

Ryan Hageman is a student of design at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.

Design statement: Using graphic design as a medium, I create work that provokes a dialogue between the message and its social and cultural context. Through research and observation, I attempt to create a bridge of connections and social interactions that will expand the visual language of collaboration between cultures, and acknowledge the commonalities and the differences that is the richness of our diversified communities.

Japan: During the spring and summer of 2010, he studied graphic design at the Sozosha College of Design in Osaka, Japan. This experience focused on the mechanics of designing in Japanese, allowing him to develop both his design and language capabilities. View the work created while in Japan.
